The original six videos on Dailymotion will be my first update- I would love to combine them somehow, but I've long since deleted the source files (thinking, at the time, it was all over with already!) Suggestions for horse names, any kind of romantic decisions ( ) and suggestions for training and events are all welcomed, if not encouraged.
I had to warn them off somehow! Among the responses, there were even more people who thought a Let's Play would be a good idea. "I wonder if it's actually decent as a horse game?" Then, people started seriously asking about Petz Horsez 2. At this point, I immediately deleted all the videos from my computer after uploading them to Dailymotion, and tried to forget the whole thing had happened. At first, I resisted, but ultimately I decided I would do the opening of the game (up until the end of the tutorial, at least) as a video trip report, which I did. He eagerly began proclaiming I ought to make an LP of his wonderful little white elephant. Then, I made my big mistake: I mentioned I owned a licensed copy of FRAPS with a microphone. So, of course, we discussed just how painful this was, and decided I should do a trip report in the Steam thread. He decided he had to get me something in return, but after looking for a while, he proclaimed "Fuck it! Found the perfect thing." I took him up on it, and offered him Dead Rising 2 with no strings attached. Goon SwissArmyKnife decided to offer a trade- He wanted Dead Rising 2, and since it would be cheaper to buy if you owned Resident Evil 5, he wanted to get it from someone who had RE5 in exchange for a game of equivalent value. However, the clunky riding sections, the wedged in socialisation with throwaway characters and the mandatory literature on horses that you’ll have to read to progress soon have you forgetting about the lovely time you spend making your horse look like the belle of the ball.Back during Christmas Eve, I got busy gifting games to people in the Games forum Steam thread.
Sure one of them is your typical washing, brushing and grooming of your horse which is pretty therapeutic in nature. Then in addition to the lack of freedom, the assignments you have to complete are dull and boring for the most part. You are not in control of your time within this game and suddenly this fun game about caring for horses becomes a horrible chore. The game aims to present this title in a Persona 4 Golden Style routine format but even that game lets you form your own routine. Then when you take into account that due to this setting, you’ll be assigned tasks rather than having the freedom to do as you wish the issues with the game really begin to show themselves. However, you’ll have to fight obtuse and obnoxious controls to get anything done, meaning that the verbal abuse you’ll receive will likely be unwarranted and out of your control. This would all be fine if the game gave you a fair chance of success. You’ll be bombarded with horse-related tasks playing as Ginger, a resident of a very strict boarding school and bizarrely, the game will attack you for not instinctively nailing every task it throws your way. What becomes immediately apparent within this title is that your first impressions about this game being a happy go lucky romp like Nintendogs or something of that ilk is completely ill-advised.
